Dear questioner,

First of all, we implore Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) to help us serve His cause and render our work for His sake.

Shorter Answer: The discharge referred to in your question resembles madhiy and since this liquid is impure, it must be washed off; it only invalidates ablution and it does not necessitate ghusl (ritual bathing). Also, Refer Question # 282: Maniy (semen), Madhiy (prostatic fluid), and Wadiy (white penile secretion).

Long Answer: The liquid [discharge] which comes out of a woman’s private parts as a result of desire is of two kinds:

  1. Madhiy: this is a fine sticky white liquid that comes out when a woman thinks about sex and it is not followed by relief or relaxation, and sometimes she does not feel that she has had these discharges at all. This liquid is impure and if it touches the body or clothes, it must be washed; it only invalidates ablution – like urine – and it does not necessitate ghusl (ritual bathing).
  1. Maniy: this is a fine yellowish liquid that a woman discharges with desire, and she feels relaxed and relieved after this discharge comes out. If she has this kind of liquid, she is obliged to perform ghusl. However, this kind of discharge is pure according to the preponderant opinion of the scholars.

This is confirmed in a hadith from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم): “The man’s water is thick and white and the woman’s water is thin and yellow.” (Muslim) An-Nawawi said in his commentary on the above hadith: “The woman’s water is thin and yellow. This is a great principle concerning the characteristics of maniy. These are its characteristics during health and in general. … As regards the maniy of the woman, it is thin and yellow, and it may become white because of its abundance. It has two distinguishing features, and it is determined by either one of them: one is that it smells like the maniy of the man, and the second is that the woman feels pleasure by its discharge and her lust abates once it is discharged.”

The discharge referred to in the question resembles madhiy and since this liquid is impure, it must be washed off; it only invalidates ablution and it does not necessitate ghusl (ritual bathing).
